Do you have salary updates?
For education groups only: The benefit paid out on MESSA’s short and long term disability products, some of MESSA’s life insurance products, and optional benefits is based on an employee’s salary. To ensure accurate benefit pay out, up-to-date salary information for your employees is important.
MESSA accepts salary updates at any time during the year. Click here to Send Us A Secure Message from the MESSA business administration center home page.

Ask Emma!
Sometimes employees need a little help figuring out which MESSA plan is right for them. Ask Emma, an animated virtual assistant, can help and recommend a medical plan that fits the employee best, right now.
Ask Emma:
- Analyzes the employee’s medical claims and demographic data.
- Calculates an out-of-pocket estimate based on plan deductible, copayments, coinsurance, etc.
- Provides a final plan recommendation based on which plan features the lowest estimated out-of-pocket costs while meeting the health needs of the employee and their family.
Ask Emma works in conjunction with your online benefits website. Contact MESSA’s benefits administration team to get started; email or call 888-888-4167, ext. 5517.
Updating employee contact information and beneficiary designations
Please remind your employees it’s important to keep their phone numbers, email and mailing addresses up to date with both you and MESSA. Also, at open enrollment and when an employee experiences a life event (marriage, birth, etc.) remind them to verify their beneficiary designations and update accordingly.
