New billing and payment portal
MESSA’s new billing and payment portal will go live on February 13, 2023. Below is important information to help you prepare.
Pay My Bill will be temporarily unavailable beginning 5:00 p.m., February 8 through February 12. To ensure a clean transition, the ability to make online payments will be temporarily unavailable as we settle and post payment activity in our current system before transferring this information to our new billing and payment portal. On February 13, payment ability will be restored, a link to the new portal will be posted and you’ll be able to make payments and view your March invoice.
You will need to enter your payment account information. MESSA’s new billing and payment portal is supported by a new payment vendor. Your current payment account information will not transfer to the vendor. When making your first payment using our new portal, you will be asked to enter your payment account information. You be able to save it to use for future payments.
There’s still time for you to join a training session and get a demonstration of the new portal. Training sessions take place via Zoom and are scheduled for the entire month of February. Complete the registration form and pick a date the works best for you. You’ll receive the Zoom link at the time you register and we’ll send you a reminder the day before your session.
Download the user guide to learn how easy it is to navigate through the new billing and payment portal.
1095-B Tax forms
Tax form 1095-B provides proof that an employee and their family had health insurance during the year.
Beginning with the 2019 tax year, the government no longer requires a 1095-B form to be submitted with individual tax returns. This continues to be the case for the 2022 tax year. Therefore, a 1095-B will be provided only upon request.
If an employee would like a 1095-B for their records, they may submit a request as follows:
- Call MESSA Member Services at 800-336-0013
- Secure message via their MyMESSA account
- Mail a request to MESSA, Attn: Member Services, 1475 Kendale Blvd., P.O. Box 2560, East Lansing, MI 48826
If you, as an employer, need to request a 1095-B on behalf of an employee, call MESSA Group Services at 888-888-4167, ext. 7922.
Note: Employers are still required to provide employees with tax form 1095-C.
