Below is the 2025 Billing Schedule. This is also available on the BAC under Invoices.

Invoices are generated on the billing date and should be available to view the following Monday.
1095-B Forms for ACA
Tax form 1095-B provides proof that an employee and their family had health insurance during the year.
Beginning with the 2019 tax year, the government no longer requires a 1095-B form to be submitted with individual tax returns. This continues to be the case for the 2024 tax year. Therefore, a 1095-B will be provided only upon request.
If an employee would like a 1095-B for their records, they may submit a request as follows:
- Call MESSA Member Services at 800-336-0013
- Secure message via their MyMESSA account
- Mail a request to MESSA, Attn: Member Services, 1475 Kendale Blvd., P.O. Box 2560, East Lansing, MI 48826
If you, as an employer, need to request a 1095-B on behalf of an employee, call MESSA Group Services at 888-888-4167, ext. 7922.
Note: Employers are still required to provide employees with tax form 1095-C.
How to File a Claim with Aetna
If you have employees who need to file a supplemental plan claim with Aetna, MESSA has a helpful guide for walking them through that process. This guide is also available on the BAC under Education Center.
Reminder: Deductibles Reset on Jan. 1
MESSA deductibles for medical, dental and vision plans will reset on Jan. 1 and run through Dec. 31.
For MESSA ABC and Balance+: Members pay the full cost of most in-network services and prescription drug purchases until they meet their deductible. If members have two-person or family coverage, they must pay the entire family deductible before MESSA pays claims for individuals.
For MESSA Choices: Members pay the cost of medical services, except most in-network preventive care, until they have met their deductible. Deductible expenses incurred in October, November and December of 2024 will count toward their 2025 deductible.
For Essentials by MESSA: Members pay for most medical services until they meet their deductible. After that, they’ll pay coinsurance or copayments for most non-preventive medical services.
Members don’t pay for preventive care: For all MESSA health plans, certain in-network preventive care is fully covered at no cost to members.

MESSA Holiday Hours
MESSA Group Services will be closed for the holidays from the end of the day Monday, December 23, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Normal business hours will resume Thursday, January 2, 2025.
