Starting July 1, 2024, AllianceRx Walgreens Pharmacy will become MESSA’s exclusive provider for specialty drugs, pending state approval. If an employee fills their specialty medication through a different pharmacy beginning July 1, they may be responsible for the full cost of the drug.
Employees who have specialty drug prescriptions for themselves or their covered dependents have already received letters from MESSA explaining the change. View the list of specialty medications here.

Medical Case Management
If you have an employee experiencing a chronic condition, a new medical diagnosis for themselves or their child, or a recent injury where physical function is impacted, they may benefit from MESSA’s Medical Case Management (MCM) program.
This program provides support, education and advocacy to members with complex illnesses or injuries. Members who enroll in MCM will receive assistance in navigating the healthcare system, identifying local resources, accessing benefits, and understanding their diagnosis and various treatment options.

MESSA’s team of experts can help lighten the load by taking on the administrative tasks involved with FMLA. Our team will work alongside you from the moment your employee notifies you they intend to take FMLA leave until the day your employee returns to work.
